Hemmings Find of the Day 1969 Ford LTD hardtop coupe
As if the survivor status of this 1969 Ford LTD hardtop coupe, for sale on Hemmings.com, wasn’t incentive enough to make the seller an offer, the car also played a (small) background role in the Clint Eastwood film Jersey Boys, which certainly gives the Ford’s next owner bragging rights. Thought to be mostly original, except for a new dual-exhaust system, the top-trim Ford coupe boasts a 429-cu.in. V-8 beneath its hood, as well as a factory-installed 8-track tape player and two sets of wheel covers (including the proper turbine style). On the minus side, the front and rear seats will need reupholstering, but otherwise the car is described as a “comfortable cruiser” by its current caretaker. From the seller’s description:
This is an original unrestored 1969 Ford LTD Brougham hardtop coupe powered by a 429 two- barrel V8 with a C6 automatic transmission. This car is all original except for a new full dual exhaust. Original 2 barrel carburetor was recently rebuilt by a reputable local carb shop. Headliner, side & door panels are in excellent original shape but the rear & front bench seats do need to be reupholstered and it has a factory floor mounted 8-track player. Exterior seems to be the original paint and it is in great shape. Has the original California black license plates. Sale will also include the original turbine style wheel covers that came with the car as it currently sits on “66 Galaxie wheel covers just for personal preference. This car also appeared as a background vehicle in the movie “Jersey Boys” directed by Clint Eastwood. Overall, it is not a perfect show car but it is a comfortable cruiser you can have some fun actually driving it as it was meant to be.
