Wixom, Michigan, 1957
As seen in Tim Howley’s book, The Lincoln Continental Story, the above photo depicts the now-shuttered Wixom assembly plant just inside the southern Wixom Road entrance in Wixom, Michigan, probably sometime around when it opened in April 1957, initially tasked with building the Continental and the Ford Thunderbird. Unsurprisingly, most of the parking lot is dominated by FoMoCo products here, but we see a few vehicles not sporting the Blue Oval badge. What do you see here?
